Account Officer (Credit and Marketing)

A microfinance bank with a head office in Lagos is in need of an account officer who will help in handling customers accounts and processing financial transactions as well as ensuring accurate financial records.

Position Overview

The account officer will be responsible for new businesses, opening of accounts, and sourcing for investment opportunities; verifying accounts payable and receivables; understanding clients' businesses; and analyzing their financial and non-financial information in order to seek and obtain management's approval for credit requests.

Educational Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Professional certifications such as ICAN, or similar qualifications are an added advantage.

Experience

• A minimum of 2–5 years of experience within banking/financial services.
• Proven understanding of accounting principles
• Strong academic background.
• Must have credit and marketing experience.
• In-depth understanding of microfinance regulations and policies
• Knowledge of fintech innovations, digital banking, and financial technology trends.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
