About the Role


We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Sales Manager to lead our national sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing effective sales strategies, motivating the sales team, and achieving sales targets and objectives. The role requires a dynamic individual with a clear understanding of the Nigeria Poultry Market, strong market contacts, and expertise in sales ERP, particularly Salesforce.



Responsibilities


Strategic Sales Leadership:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Lead and motivate the nationwide sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with key customers and stakeholders.


Account Management

  • Negotiate and close deals with large or strategic accounts.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.


Sales Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze sales metrics and trends, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive sales forecasts and reports to senior management.


Market Research And Business Development

  • Conduct market research to identify new potential customers and opportunities.
  • Stay updated with new product launches and industry developments.


Collaboration And Coordination

  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to ensure brand consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.


Team Development And Coaching

  • Provide coaching and training to the sales team to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts within the sales team.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Nutrition, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or Team Leader within the animal nutrition or agriculture sectors.
  • Extensive experience in Business-to-Business (B2B) sales within the animal nutrition or poultry industries.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and navigate the complexities of the animal nutrition business, with a proactive approach to staying current on industry trends, challenges, and innovations.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop actionable plans and drive performance within a competitive marketplace.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills to foster relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry partners.


Required Skills


  • Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of the animal nutrition sector, particularly in the poultry and livestock markets, with relevant market knowledge and established contacts within the industry.
  • Proven expertise in animal farming practices and the ability to adapt industry knowledge to meet market demands.


  • Sales Technology : Proficiency with Sales ERP systems, including Salesforce, to effectively manage sales processes, track performance, and drive results.


  • Leadership Skills : A proven ability to lead and motivate a nationwide sales team in the animal nutrition space. Strong coaching capabilities, with a focus on developing a talent pipeline, and growing future leaders within the team.
