You assist in planning, developing and execution of capital projects, technical development, feasibility perspectives of engineering-related activities in the supply chain and capital-expense project execution to support growth, world-class manufacturing and productivity with the highest level of quality, safety and environmental requirements. You help ensure sure that Mondelēz business and innovation processes in project management and Mondelēz standards in execution are followed.

How You Will Contribute

The role supports capital project execution, and you will be accountable for the quality of the results and execution of capital projects using Mondelēz standards, and business and innovation processes in project management. You will help define and deliver the capital and technical agenda during the development phase of capital investments with stakeholders so that accurate budgets, plans and fit-for-purpose technical solutions are provided and develop the capital budget according to the contract and forecast cash flow. You will also help ensure that applicable engineering developments and standards are properly implemented and support the development and implementation of state-of-the-art processes and equipment strategies to optimize resources, harmonize assets and rollout best practices.

What you need to know about this position:

  • Achieve consistent product quality and ensure food safety at all times. Drive safety culture across team and in the management of vendors and contractors.
  • Achieve vertical startup for new equipment, installation and/or lines.
  • Achieve the line/plant targets in line with the company's COMPELLING BUSINESS NEED (CBN).
  • Execution of site productivity and innovation ideas as well as capital repeated project execution using Mondelez standards
  • Define and deliver the capital and technical agenda during the development phase of capital investments with stakeholders so that accurate budgets, plans and fit-for-purpose technical solutions are provided
  • Develop the capital budget according to the contract and forecast cash flow.
  • Ensure plant & equipment availability, reliability and performance round the clock.
  • Ensure that applicable engineering developments and standards are properly implemented
  • Strict adherence to GMP and Food safety Requirements in project execution
  • Ensure CIL and centerline compliance on equipment.
  • Ensure machines are run with guards and safety devices in place - ensure LOTO compliance.
  • Ensure machines are run based on SOPs and center lines.
  • Report and investigate near misses, incident & accidents on the lines and across site
  • Conduct Risk Assessment and Quick Risk Prediction for all tasks to be embarked on.
  • Manage projects from conceptualization to post implementation review to deliver new equipment at AM step 3.
  • Work with the M&R Lead of the plant to ensure implementation of the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) of equipment of the lines to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Liaise effectively with support services providers to ensure prompt and quality service delivery to the line.

  • Carry out daily line walk through (GEMBA) and restore line to standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of state-of-the-art processes and equipment strategies to optimize resources, harmonize assets and rollout best practices.


What extra ingredients you will bring:

Education / Certifications:

  • Must possess at least a HND or BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a process/production plant.
  • Project management certification is an added advantage.


Job specific requirements:

  • Project management skills
  • Familiar with IL6S/ TPM
  • Good analytical skills of production systems, components parts and equipment.
  • Understanding of component materials (raw materials) and make suggestions on ways to enhance the overall product quality and process reliability.
  • Ability to develop, configure and optimize existing processes
  • Data interpretation to include process audits, process and packaging development
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy
  • Understanding of section diagrams, P&ID drawings
  • Must have basic understanding of project management
  • Ability to use MS project will be an added advantage

Internal -

Line Leads (both local and other MDLZ sites, e.g. for benchmarking), Plant M&R Leads, Section Managers, Factory Utilities Team; Factory Quality Assurance Team; FI pillar and E&T pillar, PM pillar, Local R&D (e.g. to run trials)

External -

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) working with the M&R Lead or projects team, and contractors
