Program Duration: 6 Months

Role Description

This is a volunteer remote role for an Academic Mentor for our Global Mentorship Program. The Academic Mentor will be responsible for guiding and supporting students in their academic journey. The mentor targeted guidance to mentees pursuing scholarships and graduate school opportunities abroad. The mentor serves as a resource, motivator, and advisor, helping mentees navigate competitive academic pathways and submit strong, strategic applications.

Role Overview

As an Academic Mentor, you will:

• Guide mentees through the scholarship and graduate school application process
• Provide feedback on statements of purpose, research proposals, and academic CVs
• Advise on identifying suitable programs and navigating timelines
• Share relevant resources, personal insights, and program-specific advice
• Provide constructive feedback on written application materials
• Encourage mentee accountability and goal progression
• Offer mentorship and accountability over a six-month period

Qualifications

• Should have completed or be currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s or PhD)
• Strong understanding of the scholarship application process and graduate school requirements

Desirable Qualifications:

• May have received or applied for at least one academic scholarship (e.g., Chevening, Erasmus, DAAD, Fulbright, Mastercard Foundation, etc.)
• Be available for one-on-one sessions and occasional group seminars.
