Job Summary:
The Medical Officer will provide high-quality clinical care to patients in accordance with hospital standards. This role entails evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of medical conditions while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient consultations, clinical examinations, and diagnostic investigations.
- Provide timely and appropriate medical treatment, including prescribing medication and developing treatment plans.
- Collaborate with consultants and other healthcare professionals in managing complex cases.
- Monitor patients progress, update medical records, and communicate effectively with patients and families regarding their health conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in clinical audits, ward rounds, and case reviews.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and participate in emergency care procedures as required.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and statutory regulations.
- Participate in continuous medical education and professional development programs.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and interns where applicable.
- Perform other clinical duties as assigned by supervisors.
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 2 years of post-NYSC clinical experience (preferably in a hospital setting).
- Valid practicing license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (an added advantage).
- Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
