Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a competent and diligent Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy team in delivering safe, efficient, and professional pharmaceutical services within our hospital. The ideal candidate will work closely with licensed pharmacists to prepare, dispense, and manage medications in accordance with Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) guidelines and hospital protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation, packaging, and dispensing of prescriptions.
- Measure and mix medications under supervision, including reconstitution of injectable drugs.
- Ensure accurate labeling of drugs with dosage and patient information.
- Fill medication trays and prepare drug orders for wards and units.
- Receive and verify pharmaceutical supplies from vendors.
- Conduct routine stock checks, update inventory records, and monitor expiry dates.
- Arrange and store medications according to standard procedures (FIFO, FEFO)
- Report stock shortages or discrepancies to the pharmacist.
- Deliver medications to wards and theatre units as requested.
- Maintain proper documentation for controlled drugs, issuing, and returns.
- Provide support during ward rounds, drug audits, or outreach programmes as directed.
- Ensure strict compliance with PCN regulations, NAFDAC guidelines, and hospital SOPs.
- Uphold hygiene, infection prevention, and medication safety standards.
- Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) sessions.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Pharmacy or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-NYSC experience in a hospital or clinical setting (preferred).
- Familiarity with local and international drug names and usage.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to use pharmacy software and basic computer applications.
- Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and patient safety.
Salary: N120,000
