  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare reports for senior management, stakeholders, and auditors .
  • Develop and manage the annual budgeting process.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, project finance models, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyse operational costs, especially related to vessel operations, port charges, crew wages, bunkering, and dry-docking.
  • Work closely with operations and technical departments to control and reduce costs.
  • Monitor voyage performance and profitability.
  • Manage cash flow to meet operational and capital requirements.
  • Liaise with banks and financial institutions for credit facilities, letters of credit, and currency exchange.
  • Oversee foreign exchange exposure and hedging strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory laws, regulations, and maritime industry financial standards.
  • Manage insurance policies, including hull & machinery, P&I (Protection & Indemnity), and freight risks.
  • Maintain tax compliance in multiple jurisdictions as required.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare financial documentation for board meetings, funding rounds, or investor relations.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as acquisitions, joint ventures, and asset financing.
