- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Monitor and analyse financial performance to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports for senior management, stakeholders, and auditors .
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting process.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, project finance models, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Analyse operational costs, especially related to vessel operations, port charges, crew wages, bunkering, and dry-docking.
- Work closely with operations and technical departments to control and reduce costs.
- Monitor voyage performance and profitability.
- Manage cash flow to meet operational and capital requirements.
- Liaise with banks and financial institutions for credit facilities, letters of credit, and currency exchange.
- Oversee foreign exchange exposure and hedging strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory laws, regulations, and maritime industry financial standards.
- Manage insurance policies, including hull & machinery, P&I (Protection & Indemnity), and freight risks.
- Maintain tax compliance in multiple jurisdictions as required.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare financial documentation for board meetings, funding rounds, or investor relations.
- Support strategic initiatives such as acquisitions, joint ventures, and asset financing.
