Yousend is a digital cross-border remittance platform powering money transfers from the UK and Canada to Africa (Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana) and within Africa. We are reimagining how people move money across countries. We’re at the launch stage and looking for someone who can give our social media presence a bold personality.
The Role
We’re not looking for a traditional Social Media Manager. We’re looking for a creative engine - someone who understands the internet, thrives in front of the camera, and knows how to spark conversations that drive engagement and virality. If you love turning complex ideas into punchy videos, tweets, or trends and know how to build community while making people laugh, think, or share? We want you.
This is a unique opportunity to own and shape Yousend’s voice across platforms and become the face of the brand on social media when needed.
What You’ll Do
- Creative Strategy & Execution: Design and drive bold content strategies tailored for each social platform (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
- On-Camera Content Creation: Be confident and compelling on camera, creating short-form, personality-driven videos that connect with audiences and explain Yousend’s value in a fun, relatable way.
- Trendspotting & Cultural Relevance: Spot viral moments and creatively insert Yousend into relevant cultural conversations.
- Community Growth & Engagement: Actively engage with followers, creators, and online communities - replying with wit, warmth, and speed.
- Content Calendar & Campaigns: Plan a consistent stream of thumb-stopping content, in sync with product updates, events, and growth campaigns.
- Influencer & UGC Strategy: Work with PR and the wider marketing team to source creators, build partnerships, and harness UGC to amplify reach.
- Analytics & Optimization: Track what’s working, iterate fast, and experiment constantly to drive performance.
What You Bring
- A proven creative portfolio. Links to your content (especially video or social series) that show your unique voice and storytelling ability.
- 3+ years of experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing.
- Comfort being on camera, you’re expressive, engaging, and confident speaking
- unscripted.
- Deep understanding of platform-native content styles, especially on TikTok and
- Instagram Reels.
- A smart, strategic mind that understands the business goals behind every post.
- Strong writing skills, clever captions, smart threads, and catchy scripts come
- naturally.
- Bonus: You’ve helped grow a social brand from scratch or gone viral more than once.
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, remittances, or crypto (but not required).
- Past success with community building, influencer collaboration, or meme-led growth.
- Knowledge of tools like CapCut, Canva, Notion, Later, etc.
