Job Summary

Our client, a Fintech company, is hiring a Head of Operations. The candidate must be a seasoned professional with a strong background in loan processing, risk management, team leadership and business operations in a credit facility. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and accurate loan disbursal processes while maintaining a high level of compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate must have a strong background in Fintech operations, process optimization, and a deep understanding of the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the overall business objectives.
• Oversee the end-to-end loan disbursal process, from application review to fund disbursement.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of loan applications in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Implement strategies to streamline and optimize the loan processing workflow.
• Collaborate with the risk management team to identify and address potential risks associated with loan disbursal.
• Continuously assess and enhance the efficiency of loan disbursement processes.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
• Drive the execution of strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
• Implement customer feedback mechanisms to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the customer service team to improve the overall customer experience.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to increase operational effectiveness.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of first degree in a Social Sciences, Sciences or Engineering.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in financial services operations, with substantial supervisory experience within operations, preferably in a commercial bank or finance house.
• Must have a robust knowledge of banking and fintech operations; settlement and reconciliation; general ledger management on core banking systems, banking use-cases and transaction flows.
• Possess working knowledge of local and global prudential guidelines touching on credit and operations risk management.
• Advanced Excel Usage; Credit operations, bank and financial statement analysis.
• In depth understanding of process design and documentation; General ledger management, settlement analysis and e-payment fraud prevention.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, which includes team coaching, coordination and public speaking.
• Efficient communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team.
• Desire and aptitude for learning new concepts on the job.
  
  
  

Salary: N15m- N18m pa gross
