Summary:
We are hiring a Content Manager for our client in the media production industry who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of a TV channel on all linear
platforms (DSTV, GOTV, FreeTV), focusing on content, programming, distribution, and
audience engagement. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for overseeing and managing the creation, development, and distribution of content for television programs and platforms. They are responsible for ensuring content aligns with the channel's goals, target audience, and brand guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the selection, development, and scheduling of programming content to ensure it aligns with the channel's target audience and brand identity.
- Identifying target audiences, analyzing content trends, and creating a content calendar to ensure timely and relevant content delivery. This is done in collaboration with the Content Management Committee (CMC)
- Collaborate with writers, editors, designers, and other content creators to produce high-quality television content.
- Develop and manage the channel's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Oversee and supervise the channel's staff, including presenters, MCR, show producers, services (makeup, hair, wardrobe), interns and trainees.
- Ensure adherence to NBC and other best practice broadcasting regulations and ethical guidelines.
- Ensure the content fidelity, integrity, format and quality, before it is transmitted in the linear television channels
- Track key metrics such as viewership, engagement rates, and audience demographics to assess the success of content and make data-driven decisions.
- Maintain brand guidelines and ensure content reflects the channel's tone, style, and overall brand image.
- Work closely with Digital, News, Production, Market Studios, Marketing & sales, Business
- Development and production teams to achieve common goals.
Requirements
- Minimum of bachelor degree/HND academic qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in working at management level in electronic broadcast media (programmes, content, production)
- A strong understanding of television formats, programming, and distribution channels is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for effective collaboration with various teams.
- The ability to analyse content performance data, identify areas for improvement, and
- implement data-driven solutions is essential
- Must be ready, willing and able to embrace emerging technologies, and implement where beneficial
- Must be able to communicate with nuance, on a one on one basis to the different types of people in the organization; from creatives, to technical, to administrative members.
- Must be able to implement and also follow organizational processes
- Must be creative and innovative
- Must be able to transmit ideas, tasks and policy, and also be able to receive feedback and internalize
- Must be able to work with tight deadlines, and respond to emergencies
