Job Overview

Job Summary

To assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality education to Key Stage 1 pupils, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development in a nurturing environment aligned with the British Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons and activities, ensuring they are engaging and age-appropriate for Key Stage 1 pupils.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs.
• Help manage classroom behavior, ensuring a positive learning environment.
• Support the assessment process, including observing and recording pupil progress.
• Prepare and organize learning materials and resources.
• Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtime, and other non-teaching periods as required.
• Maintain a clean and stimulating classroom environment.
• Promote the school’s values, ensuring a respectful and inclusive classroom culture.
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of pupils by following safeguarding policies and procedures.
  
  

Person Specification

• A degree in Education or equivalent qualification is required.
• Previous experience in a classroom or school environment, particularly supporting Key Stage 1 pupils, is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, caring, and proactive approach to working with young children.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Passion for early childhood education and pupil development.
