Job Summary

We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Field Inspection Engineer to join our growing technical operations team. This role is responsible for the on-site installation, inspection, and maintenance of network services, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in network deployment within ISP or telecommunications environments and should be comfortable working in dynamic field conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Configuration

• Conduct on-site installations of internet and networking equipment (routers, modems, switches, cabling, etc.).
• Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures and technical installation guidelines.
• Test and verify signal strength, connectivity, and overall service performance post-installation.
• Provide basic training and support to customers on equipment usage and maintenance.
  
  
  

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve connectivity and equipment-related issues at customer sites.
• Respond promptly to service calls and maintenance requests with effective technical solutions.
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate internal technical support or NOC team.
• Maintain detailed service reports, installation checklists, and documentation for each visit.
  
  
  

Customer Service & Communication

• Interact professionally with clients, explaining technical procedures in a clear and approachable manner.
• Address customer queries and provide product usage guidance and service recommendations.
• Collaborate with sales/account teams to relay customer feedback and suggest upgrade opportunities.
  
  
  

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure all installations meet technical standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations.
• Conduct quality audits and follow-up visits to validate service performance and resolve latent issues.
• Keep abreast of industry best practices, tools, and technological advancements.
  
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC; OND/HND/BSc in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• 2 - 4 years of relevant field experience in ISP or telecom installations and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, and switching.
• Proficient in handling and configuring networking devices (e.g., routers, switches, modems).
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments.
• Physically fit, with the ability to lift and mount network devices.
• Must possess a valid drivers license and be willing to travel within Lagos and surrounding areas.
