Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Technician to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing various mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using analytical and problem-solving skills
- Install, modify, and upgrade mechanical components and systems as needed
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to extend equipment life and improve efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex mechanical issues
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations while performing tasks
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and equipment breakdowns
- degree in maintainence or Technical college certificate
- 2-3 years of experience as a mechanical technician or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with preventive maintenance practices and procedures
- Skilled in using various hand and power tools
- Knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in an industrial setting
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and report generation
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, pneumatics, hydraulics) are a plus
- Ability to work efficiently and organize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls when necessary
