Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Consultant Family Physician to serve as the Head of Medical Services at a leading private hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos. This executive role requires a clinically sound and visionary professional to lead medical operations, enhance patient care standards, drive clinical innovation, and manage key external stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Leadership

• Provide expert patient care as a Consultant Family Physician.
• Lead and supervise interdisciplinary medical teams for efficient service delivery.
• Promote evidence-based medicine and foster continuous medical education.
  
  
  

2. Operational Oversight

• Manage daily clinical operations across all medical units.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and ethical standards.
• Develop and implement SOPs, treatment protocols, and clinical governance structures.
• Track departmental KPIs and implement performance improvement strategies.
  
  
  

3. Strategic Development & Quality Assurance

• Collaborate with executive leadership to align clinical goals with hospital objectives.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and champion patient safety across the hospital.
• Stay current with medical innovations, technologies, and best practices.
• Represent the hospital in professional forums, conferences, and associations.
  
  
  

4. Stakeholder Management & External Relations

• Establish and maintain productive relationships with healthcare regulators and public health stakeholders.
• Provide expert advisory support to the executive team on clinical and operational matters.
  
  
  

Requirements & Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
• Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College or West African College of Physicians (Family Medicine).
• Valid MDCN license and up-to-date annual practicing license.
• Minimum of 10 years post-fellowship experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian healthcare standards, systems, and regulatory environment.
• Demonstrated success in clinical leadership and operational excellence.
