Job Summary:

We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and delivering excellent customer service in a busy pharmacy setting located at Victoria Island, Lagos. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in medication preparation, inventory control, and administrative pharmacy duties while complying with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in accurately filling and dispensing prescriptions, including measuring, counting, packaging, and labeling medications with correct patient and drug information.
  • Verify prescription accuracy for dosage, route, and patient information as directed by the pharmacist.
  • Support compounding of medications under pharmacist supervision, where applicable.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by stocking, organizing, and monitoring medication levels, placing orders as necessary, and ensuring timely removal of expired drugs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date pharmacy and patient records, including prescription details and inventory logs.
  • Process insurance claims and handle necessary paperwork related to prescription payments.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service, answering patient questions and addressing concerns within scope.
  • Handle phone inquiries and direct calls to relevant personnel effectively.
  • Support pharmacists with administrative duties to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy to meet safety and infection control standards.
  • Keep abreast of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance with Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) standards.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Diploma or Certificate in Pharmacy Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Current registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
  • Valid practicing license issued by the PCN.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience working in a pharmacy, hospital, or healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic pharmacy software is advantageous.
  • Ability to work under supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
