Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Location: Ikeja GRA, Lagos – As assigned (client sites, project locations, and in-house operations)

Employment Type: Contract (Project-Based / Fixed-Term)

Department: Service Engineering

Reports To: Service Engineering Manager

Job Summary

  • The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment including pumps, valves, compressors, engines, and gearboxes.
  • The role requires hands-on technical expertise to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Perform alignment of rotating equipment.
  • Conduct lubrication and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Replace and install bearings.
  • Monitor and analyze vibration levels for mechanical assets.
  • Perform basic welding and pipe fitting tasks.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical faults and propose solutions.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Hands-on experience in alignment, lubrication, and bearing replacement.
  • Proficiency in vibration monitoring and interpretation.
  • Experience with basic welding and pipe fitting.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Other Requirements

  • Basic understanding of safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Ability to read technical diagrams, manuals, and instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be physically fit and willing to travel to project locations within Nigeria.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as projects demand.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with industrial machinery, pumps, valves, control panels, or lubrication systems.
  • Experience working in oil & gas, manufacturing, or construction environments.
