Job Summary

Our client, a fast-growing player in the healthcare technology sector, is recruiting a result-oriented Medical Sales Representative to drive the promotion and sales of biomedical equipment and solutions across Abuja and its environs. This position blends biomedical engineering understanding with strong commercial acumen and customer relationship skills. The ideal candidate is a persuasive communicator, confident negotiator, and self-motivated professional with the capacity to translate technical features into tangible clinical value.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Actively prospect and acquire new business from hospitals, diagnostic centres, clinics, and labs.
  • Conduct market research and cold calls, and schedule client meetings to drive product awareness.
  • Deliver persuasive product pitches and sales presentations tailored to client needs.
  • Prepare and submit proposals, negotiate contract terms, and close deals successfully.
  • Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets and revenue goals.


Technical Product Support

  • Understand and explain detailed biomedical product features and benefits.
  • Provide product demonstrations and assist in basic installations and user training.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical inquiries and coordinate support with service engineers.


Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare stakeholders.
  • Offer exceptional after-sales service, including troubleshooting and follow-up visits.
  • Act as the communication link between the client and internal technical or logistics teams.


Reporting & Market Intelligence

  • Track competitor activity, pricing, and product trends within assigned territory.
  • Provide structured weekly reports on pipeline, client feedback, and closed deals.
  • Share insights to improve marketing strategies and inform product development.


Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Sciences, Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Advanced Degrees such as MBA or M.Sc. in healthcare or business are advantageous, especially for senior-level engagement.
  • Relevant Coursework in biology, chemistry, statistics, or marketing is highly beneficial.


Experience

  • Minimum of 2-4 years sales experience, preferably in biomedical, pharmaceutical, medical device, or diagnostics sales.
  • Field experience working with hospital procurement teams, clinicians, and key medical decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with medical regulations, healthcare sales practices, and technical product lifecycles.

  • Sales Skills: Ability to pitch, persuade, and close deals confidently.
  • Technical Understanding: Knowledge of medical equipment, diagnostics tools, and usage context.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication for professional presentations and follow-ups.
