Job Objectives
- The Facility Officer – Technical will support the Facilities Management Department in overseeing the maintenance, reliability, and operational performance of facility infrastructure and building systems across the terminal.
- The role will coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, supervise contractors, and ensure that facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational standards.

Office: GDNL Terminal ‘E’ Building Apapa Port Complex, Apapa Wharf, Lagos-Nigeria.
Reports to: Head of Facility Management
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of facility infrastructure and building systems.
- Monitor the performance and reliability of facility equipment including electrical systems, lighting infrastructure, plumbing, and utility systems.
- Supervise contractors and maintenance service providers executing facility works.
- Review maintenance reports and ensure proper closure of work orders. Conduct routine inspections of buildings, utilities, and infrastructure to identify maintenance needs and risks.
- Support planning and execution of facility upgrade and improvement projects.
- Ensure maintenance work complies with safety and operational standards.
- Support troubleshooting and technical evaluation of facility-related issues.
- Maintain records of technical maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Assist in preparing technical specifications, scope of work, and Bills of Engineering Measurement & Evaluation (BEME) for facility projects.
- Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within the facility infrastructure.
- Liaise with Engineering, HSE, Security, and Operations teams on infrastructure-related matters.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and asset reliability management.
- Ability to create drawings using AutoCAD or its equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Ability to read technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Experience supervising contractors and maintenance service providers.
- Strong understanding of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related technical field.
- Professional certification or membership with COREN, NSE, or IFMA (International Facility Management Association) is an added advantage.
- 2 – 4 years’ experience in facilities maintenance, construction, building services engineering, or infrastructure maintenance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting systems.
