Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Accountant to join our finance team within a fast-growing healthcare/medical services organization.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting management with timely financial reports and insights. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, integrity, and the ability to operate effectively within a structured healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and general ledger entries
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Prepare and process payroll, statutory deductions, pensions, and tax remittances
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and healthcare financial policies
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash position reports for management review
- Liaise with auditors during internal and external audit processes
- Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions
- Support invoice processing, billing validation, and revenue tracking (medical billing where applicable)
- Ensure proper cost allocation across departments and services
- Assist management with financial analysis and decision-making reports
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 2 – 4 years of relevant accounting experience (preferably in healthcare or structured corporate environment)
- ICAN certification (in progress or fully qualified) is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, IFRS, and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems)
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
