Role Overview
Univacity Ltd is looking for an experienced Study Abroad Counselor to guide prospective students through every stage of their international education journey — from initial consultation and school selection to application support, visa guidance, and pre-departure preparation. This role requires someone who combines genuine empathy for students' goals and anxieties with deep, practical knowledge of study abroad processes across multiple destination countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Counsel prospective students one-on-one (in person, by phone, or via video call) to understand their academic goals, budget, and preferences, and recommend suitable study destinations, institutions, and programs.
  • Guide students through the entire application process, including documentation, personal statements, recommendation letters, and institution-specific requirements.
  • Advise students on visa application procedures, financial documentation, and compliance requirements for their target countries.
  • Track each student's application pipeline from initial inquiry to offer acceptance and enrollment, ensuring timely follow-up at every stage.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner universities, colleges, and institutions abroad to stay current on admission requirements, deadlines, and program offerings.
  • Conduct pre-departure briefings covering accommodation, cultural adjustment, academic expectations, and logistics.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date student records within Univacity's CRM/platform, logging interactions, document status, and next steps.
  • Address student and parent concerns with patience and clarity, managing expectations around timelines, costs, and outcomes.
  • Stay current on changes to immigration policy, visa regulations, and admissions trends across key study destinations (UK, US, Canada, Australia, Europe, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support webinars, info sessions, and outreach events for prospective students.
  • Meet individual and team targets for student applications, conversions, and successful enrollments.



Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in study abroad counseling, international student advising, or education consulting.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully guiding students through university applications and visa processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of admissions requirements and visa procedures for at least two major study destinations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with students and parents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of student cases simultaneously without losing attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, International Relations, Counseling, or a related field.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Personal experience studying or living abroad.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems or student management platforms.
  • Existing network of contacts at partner universities or institutions.
  • Multilingual ability.
  • Experience with scholarship or financial aid advising.
  • A calm, reassuring manner when handling high-stress situations (rejections, visa delays, deadline pressure).
  • Genuine passion for international education and student success.
