Job Summary
The Solar Installer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and associated equipment. The role involves executing residential, commercial, and industrial solar projects ranging from 5kWp to 500kWp while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.
The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, customers, and site personnel to deliver efficient, reliable, and cost-effective renewable energy solutions. The role also requires providing technical support, conducting site assessments, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Solar System Installation & Commissioning
- Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
- Install and configure solar panels, batteries, inverters, charge controllers, monitoring devices, and related electrical components.
- Perform system integration with utility grids, generators, and customer electrical loads.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and performance verification to ensure optimal functionality.
- Ensure installations comply with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Site Assessment & Project Execution
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility assessments to determine installation requirements and system suitability.
- Gather and analyze customer energy consumption data to support system sizing and design.
- Identify potential technical challenges and recommend practical solutions.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, site personnel, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress and support the achievement of installation timelines and project deliverables.
Technical Support & Maintenance
- Provide technical support during and after installations.
- Diagnose and resolve system faults, equipment failures, and performance issues.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities on installed systems.
- Assist customer support teams in troubleshooting and resolving customer concerns.
- Participate in emergency response and on-call support activities when required.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures during installation and maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safety practices.
- Report safety hazards, incidents, and non-compliance issues promptly.
- Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence across all project sites.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of site assessments, installations, commissioning activities, maintenance visits, and troubleshooting interventions.
- Prepare installation reports, project completion reports, and technical documentation.
- Record system performance data and maintain project documentation for future reference.
- Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and recommendations.

- Number of successful installations completed within schedule.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Renewable Energy Engineering
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Or a related technical discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 1–3 years' experience in electrical installations, renewable energy systems, or related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with solar PV installations is highly preferred.
- Experience working with inverters, batteries, electrical wiring, and power systems is an added advantage.

- Basic understanding of solar energy principles and photovoltaic systems.
