About The Role
Our client, a leading and rapidly growing fintech company, is seeking an exceptional Head of Commercial to lead its commercial strategy and accelerate revenue growth. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving customer acquisition, expanding strategic partnerships, leading high-performing commercial teams, and building scalable revenue-generating initiatives that support the company's long-term growth objectives.
The successful candidate will be a commercially astute leader with extensive experience in B2B enterprise sales, business development, strategic partnerships, and revenue management within the financial services, fintech, SaaS, or technology sectors. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Commercial will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's commercial direction while fostering a high-performance, customer-centric culture.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute the company's commercial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth across all commercial channels.
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, customer segments, and revenue streams.
- Develop strategic growth initiatives to expand market share.
- Build scalable commercial frameworks to support business expansion.
- Lead annual commercial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to drive informed commercial decisions.
- Identify, develop, and close high-value enterprise opportunities.
- Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with enterprise clients, key stakeholders, and C-suite executives.
- Negotiate complex commercial agreements and strategic partnerships.
- Expand the company's customer portfolio across target industries and markets.
- Develop and execute customer acquisition and market expansion strategies.
- Represent the company at executive meetings, conferences, networking events, and industry engagements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales and business development team.
- Establish sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Build scalable sales processes, playbooks, and operational excellence.
- Monitor sales pipeline performance and revenue forecasts.
- Coach managers and sales teams on enterprise selling and consultative sales techniques.
- Foster a high-performance, results-oriented sales culture.
- Develop strategies to improve customer retention and lifetime value.
- Strengthen executive relationships with key enterprise accounts.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling.
- Ensure exceptional customer experience throughout the client lifecycle.
- Support strategic account management and commercial renewals.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Customer Success teams.
- Align commercial strategies with product roadmaps and go-to-market initiatives.
- Support pricing strategies, market positioning, and product commercialization.
- Drive execution of company-wide strategic growth initiatives.
- Own commercial budgets, revenue targets, and profitability goals.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and business performance reports.
- Monitor commercial KPIs and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Present commercial performance updates to the Executive Leadership Team and Board where required.
- Drive continuous improvement across commercial operations.
- Build and scale a world-class commercial organization.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and retain top commercial talent.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop leadership succession plans and career development initiatives.
- Lead daily commercial and business development operations.
- Review sales pipelines, forecasts, and revenue performance.
- Meet with prospective enterprise clients and strategic partners.
- Conduct executive-level sales presentations and commercial negotiations.
- Review commercial dashboards, KPIs, and market intelligence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute go-to-market strategies.
- Coach and mentor commercial managers and team members.
- Identify new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Participate in executive leadership meetings and strategic planning sessions.
- Ensure timely achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual commercial objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc./B.A.) in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in Commercial, Sales, Business Development, Revenue Management, or Strategic Partnerships.
- Proven leadership experience within FinTech, Financial Services, SaaS, Technology, or other high-growth sectors.
- Demonstrated track record of exceeding revenue targets and scaling commercial functions.
