Job Summary:The Project Manager (Construction/Fit-Out) is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of high-quality interior fit-out and construction projects. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, on-site project coordination, and strong stakeholder management to deliver results that align with both client expectations and internal performance standards.
The Project Manager will lead daily site operations, ensuring that all design specifications are implemented accurately, timelines are met, and construction quality is consistently upheld. They will serve as the central point of contact for clients, consultants, vendors, and internal teams, while maintaining technical control over the project from planning through to completion.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited for a technically sound, proactive, and client-focused professional with proven experience in the commercial interiors or construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:Project Execution & Technical Oversight- Lead the day-to-day technical delivery of assigned fit-out and construction projects.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to guide accurate implementation on site.
- Ensure that construction aligns with approved specifications, finishes, and the design intent.
- Coordinate inputs across all trades and resolve execution issues promptly to avoid delays.
- Supervise subcontractors and site teams to maintain quality and execution sequence.
- Oversee on-site logistics, material flow, and vendor readiness.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and manage punch list resolution.
- Monitor progress against project timelines and adjust workflows to maintain momentum.
- Act as the primary delivery contact for clients, providing regular updates and status reports.
- Liaise effectively with consultants, vendors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Translate client requirements into actionable technical deliverables while managing scope, budget, and timelines.
- Identify potential issues early and provide practical, client-sensitive solutions.
- Track progress against the program of works and provide timely updates to the Head of Projects.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including RFIs, approvals, change orders, and photos.
- Submit detailed weekly reports covering milestones, risks, and next steps.
- Collaborate with Design, QS, and Procurement teams to ensure seamless execution and budget control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years experience managing construction or interior fit-out projects with direct site responsibility.
- Proven success in vendor management, project coordination, and complex build-out execution.
- Client-facing experience on commercial and high-value interior projects.
- Familiarity with the Nigerian construction landscape, materials, and regulatory environment.
- Strong technical ability to read and implement architectural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent project sequencing, planning, and execution skills.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Google Workspace, AutoCAD (for reference), and reporting tools.
- Strong written communication for internal and client-facing reports.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and adherence to brand standards.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage timelines, margins, and deliverables.
- Deep understanding of HSE, compliance, and quality assurance throughout project phases.
