Job Description & Summary

Lead the delivery of infrastructure and capital project advisory engagements, providing strategic, financial, commercial and transaction support to public and private sector clients. Responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, driving project execution, overseeing client relationships, supporting business development efforts and ensuring high quality delivery of infrastructure projects.
As a CP&I Manager, you will manage teams of problem solvers, helping to solve complex cities and infrastructure challenges across the lifecycle of Manager capital and infrastructure projects. We help our clients plan, finance, manage, and deliver large-scale capital-intensive infrastructure projects. As part of the team, you will work with our clients throughout the full lifecycle of infrastructure project and contribute to the growth of the team and business by supporting initiative to boost team development, actively engaging in business development activities, managing client deliverables and project timelines to make a difference and deliver sustainable value.
Project and Engagement Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure advisory and capital project engagements.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources and quality assurance processes.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across financial, technical, legal, commercial, and regulatory workstreams.
- Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes
- Oversee preparation of client deliverables, presentations, reports and executive briefings.
Advisory Infrastructure & Transaction Support
- Advise clients on infrastructure development, financing, procurement, and investment strategies across the value chain.
- Lead feasibility studies, business case development, and project appraisal exercises for capital projects and infrastructure assets.
- Structure infrastructure transactions and provide end-to-end support for project financing initiatives.
- Conduct financial analysis, project valuation, investment assessments, and commercial due diligence.
- Support transaction execution activities including fundraising, debt structuring, PPP advisory, and investor engagement.
- Originate, structure, coordinate, and execute infrastructure transactions across both public and private sectors.
- Develop and validate project business models, including the preparation of investment memoranda and bankability assessments.
- Provide advisory support on procurement strategies, contracting, and negotiation throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Conduct stakeholder assessment, project risk assessment, and resource allocation for transaction engagements.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior executives, boards, and investment committees.
Financial Modelling & Commercial Analysis
- Develop and review complex financial models for infrastructure and capital projects.
- Assess project bankability, funding requirements, and investment returns.
- Perform sensitivity analysis, scenario modelling, and risk assessments to inform investment decisions.
- Provide recommendations on optimal financing structures and capital allocation strategies.
- Develop project finance financial models to support capital raising and structuring activities.
- Conduct valuation analysis and translate complex commercial findings into actionable insights.
- Apply firm methodologies and ensure consistency in commercial analysis across engagements.
- Validate key assumptions, inputs, and outputs underpinning project financial viability for various projects
- Maintain awareness of market dynamics, pricing trends, and financing benchmarks relevant to infrastructure projects.
- Review team outputs to ensure accuracy, integrity, and quality of financial models and analyses.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients and key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, development finance institutions, investors, lenders, sponsors, and private sector clients.
- Identify opportunities to expand client engagements and cross-sell advisory services.
- Establish, deepen, and expand relationships with significant public and private players across the capital projects and infrastructure value chain.
- Identify and maintain engagements with the potential client universe within the industry value chain (public and private institutions).
- Anticipate client needs and proactively offer relevant solutions across lines of service.
- Manage client expectations effectively throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Build good cross line of services (XLOS), cross competency (X-competency), and cross geography (X-geography) relationships to support client delivery.
Business Development
- Support proposal development, pitch preparation, and pursuit of new business opportunities.
- Contribute to market research, thought leadership, and sector insights.
- Develop strategic relationships across the infrastructure and investment ecosystem.
- Support leadership with client meetings and business development initiatives to drive revenue growth.
- Drive Capital Project & Infrastructure business development and execution initiatives in the relevant market.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of lines of service, local competency offerings, Africa Advisory capabilities, and Global Advisory capabilities within the context of CP&I service delivery.
- Collaborate with all advisory competencies and lines of service (locally and globally) in leading client engagement, project origination, and delivery.
- Manage and mentor engagement teams.
- Review team outputs and provide technical guidance and coaching.
- Allocate resources effectively across multiple engagements.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Develop industry-specific training modules and deploy them accordingly through training sessions.
- Promote knowledge sharing and capability building across the team.
Risk & Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, professional guidelines, and regulatory requirements, maintain engagement, profitability and financial performance.
- Ensure teams follow risk management policies and standards on engagement delivery in accordance with firm policy.
- Assist with developing or updating firm methodologies regarding infrastructure services delivery.
- Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Provide project management support across engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field; master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in capital projects, infrastructure, or related consulting fields.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.
- Project Management Professional (PMI) certification.
- Demonstrated expertise in valuations, project finance, and financial modeling.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure markets and project delivery models.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
