Job Summary
Our client, a fast-growing healthcare organization with multiple operational locations, is seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide executive financial leadership and drive sustainable business growth.
The successful candidate will oversee all financial operations, corporate finance, investment strategy, fundraising, financial planning, risk management, treasury operations, and business expansion initiatives. The ideal candidate must possess extensive healthcare finance experience, a proven track record in raising significant capital, managing large-scale financial operations, and providing strategic advisory support to executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement the organization's long-term financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Lead the finance function across all business units and multiple operational locations.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Drive financial sustainability, profitability, and organizational growth.
- Develop financial policies, governance frameworks, and internal controls.
- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
- Monitor organizational performance through financial dashboards and KPIs.
- Deliver accurate financial reports and executive insights.
- Analyze financial trends and recommend business improvement initiatives.
- Lead corporate financing initiatives and capital structure optimization.
- Successfully source, negotiate, and manage funding transactions.
- Demonstrate previous experience raising corporate funding of not less than USD $20 million.
- Ensure effective deployment and monitoring of raised capital.
- Maintain relationships with commercial banks, DFIs, investors, venture capital firms, and private equity institutions.
- Develop innovative healthcare financing strategies.
- Manage relationships with HMOs, healthcare financiers, development agencies, donor organizations, and institutional partners.
- Optimize reimbursement models and revenue generation strategies.
- Drive initiatives that improve financial accessibility and operational efficiency.
- Lead treasury management and cash flow optimization.
- Oversee corporate investment strategies.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and ensure prudent allocation of financial resources.
- Manage liquidity, foreign exchange exposure, and financial risk.
- Provide financial leadership for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and expansion projects.
- Conduct financial due diligence for new investments.
- Support market expansion initiatives through financial planning and feasibility analysis.
- Develop funding models for corporate growth.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations and healthcare industry standards.
- Manage enterprise financial risk.
- Oversee statutory audits and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain strong internal controls and governance processes.
- Lead and mentor the finance leadership team.
- Manage finance operations across multiple locations.
- Build a high-performing finance department.
- Foster continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is mandatory.
- Professional certification such as:
- ICAN
- ACCA
- ACA
- CFA (advantage)
- Minimum of 15 years progressive finance experience.
- Minimum of 7 years in a senior executive finance leadership position.
- Previous experience serving as CFO, Group CFO, Finance Director, or Group Head Finance.
- Experience within the healthcare industry is mandatory.
