Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Business Development Officer. The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders, and driving the growth and expansion of MHI's digital health platform. Daily tasks will include market research, strategic planning, sales and marketing activities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role requires proactive engagement with potential partners, negotiation of contracts, and continuous monitoring of industry trends to capitalize on opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Opportunity Identification & Market Expansion
  • Identify, validate, and open new business opportunities across hospitals, pharmacies, labs, HMOs, and private physicians.
  • Conduct market research to uncover high-value segments, unmet needs, and partnership opportunities.
  • Develop and execute entry strategies for new verticals and regions.


2. Strategic Partnerships

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with healthcare ecosystem players.
  • Structure, negotiate, and close partnership agreements that drive measurable value.
  • Lead end-to-end partnership cycles, discovery, pitching, alignment, onboarding, and activation.


3.Revenue Growth & Pipeline Management

  • Develop a sustainable revenue pipeline that balances quick wins with long-cycle strategic deals.
  • Manage the full BD pipeline using clear prioritisation, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and leadership to align offerings with market needs.


4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Interface with corporate HR, hospital management teams, HMO decision-makers, pharmacists, diagnostic leads, and physician groups.
  • Represent MHI at ecosystem meetings, demos, industry events, and partnership discussions.
  • Maintain strong post-deal relationships to ensure engagement, satisfaction, and retention.


5. New Business Development

  • Lead initiatives that open non-traditional revenue streams for MHI.
  • Participate in product shaping by translating market insights into practical recommendations.
  • Act as a growth partner to the leadership team, identifying opportunities for innovation.


Qualifications

  • Business Development, Sales, and Strategic Planning skills
  • 2-3 years experience in Business Development
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or health-tech is an added advantage
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving startup environment
  • Experience in Market Research and Analysis
  • Strong Networking and Relationship-Building abilities
  • Excellent Communication and Negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or related field is preferred
