About the Role
The Head of Human Resources is responsible for leading and overseeing all human resource functions across LAGRIDE. The role focuses on talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, policy implementation, organizational culture, compliance, and strategic HR initiatives. This role serves as a strategic partner to management, ensuring that people practices support business objectives, enhance employee performance, and drive organizational growth.
1) HR Strategy & Leadership
· Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with Lagride's business objectives.
· Provide strategic HR guidance to management on workforce planning and organizational development.
· Lead and manage all HR operations and initiatives across the organization.
· Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
· Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.
· Ensure the attraction and retention of high-performing talent.
· Build talent pipelines for critical operational and leadership roles.
· Monitor manpower requirements and support departmental workforce needs.
· Design and oversee performance management systems and appraisal processes.
· Support managers in setting performance objectives and evaluating employee performance.
· Drive a performance-oriented culture across the organization.
· Monitor employee productivity and recommend improvement initiatives.
· Identify organizational training needs and develop learning initiatives.
· Coordinate employee development programs, leadership training, and succession planning.
· Promote continuous learning and capability development.
· Foster positive employee relations and maintain a healthy work environment.
· Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
· Develop employee engagement initiatives that promote morale and productivity.
· Support the development of a strong organizational culture aligned with company values.
· Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws and regulatory requirements.
· Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
· Oversee HR reporting, analytics, and workforce metrics.
· Manage employee benefits, leave administration, and HR systems.
· Drive organizational effectiveness and change management initiatives.
· Support leadership development and succession planning.
· Develop strategies to improve employee retention and organizational performance.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
· Master's degree is an added advantage.
· Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent is required.
· Minimum of 8–10 years progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
· Experience managing HR operations in a fast-paced organization.
· Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
· Proficiency in HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and HR analytics tools.
