This role will also lead the Quantitative research effort in order to better understand the drivers of return and to provide input into models that help predict portfolio outperformance using technologies like machine learning.
You will report to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual investment strategy effort in order to set the plan for the year
- Monitor and analyze market trends to identify investment opportunities and risks
- Research potential investments and perform due diligence to assess their potential returns and risks.
- Develop a strong understanding of the coverage region through on-the-ground research, and by cultivating a strategic network in the coverage countries.
- Identify opportunistic or tactical plays as they arise based on sound market intelligence grounded in a credible strategic outlook.
- Closely monitor and work with our trading and operations teams to ensure we obtain value for all our transactions, entitlements and corporate actions
- Identify drivers of return by analyzing the predictive powers of different datasets and data combinations using advanced statistical tools and technological methods.
- Build quantitative factor models along with other team members that help predict and forecast market performance.
- Develop a detailed understanding of portfolio analytics and apply the knowledge to security selection and risk management of our funds.
- Communicate with the Wealth Advisors and Investment Consultants about the fund and ensure they remain up to date on fund performance and fund strategy
- Prepare and maintain investment strategy pitch books and product sheets for products under your management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Hard Sciences or Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in research, fund management, investment banking or investment management with a top global or top 10 local investment firm; Institutional experience at an investment firm preferred.
- Experience in macroeconomic research & fund management; interested in and follows global markets.
- Must have a CFA certification or is in the process of acquiring one
- Strong knowledge of the Securities Industry, Product and Portfolio Management
- Excellent written & oral communication skills & interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
