We are seeking a competent and driven Mechanical Engineer to join our Works and Physical Planning department in Irrua, Edo State. You will be responsible for the planning, maintenance, and oversight of mechanical systems and infrastructure essential to our institution’s operations. We are looking for a professional who combines technical expertise with a commitment to high standards of facility management and regulatory compliance. Requirements

  • Infrastructure Planning & Maintenance: Oversee the design, installation, and preventative maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical infrastructure.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide engineering expertise for the Works and Physical Planning department, ensuring all mechanical installations meet safety and efficiency standards.

Business Management training

  • Project Supervision: Supervise mechanical projects and contractors, ensuring that all work is completed according to project specifications and timelines.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all mechanical systems comply with relevant national building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of equipment, maintenance logs, and technical reports for institutional auditing and planning purposes.

Engineering & Technology

Qualifications And Skills

  • Education: Good honours degree (HND or B.Sc.) with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • NYSC: Must possess a valid NYSC Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion Certificate.
  • Professional Certification: Must be a registered/certified member of a relevant professional body (e.g., COREN) with a valid practicing license.
  • Technical Proficiency: Computer literacy is compulsory. Please note that the interview process will include a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • Added Advantage: Possession of a higher degree (Master’s or equivalent) will be considered an asset.
