Job Position: Prototyping and Test Engineer
Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Overview
- We are seeking a Prototyping and Test Engineer to own the physical build loop, additive manufacturing operations, and environmental and functional testing of our hardware platforms.
- This role sits at the intersection of making and validating: it is the role that turns design concepts into testable objects in days, and that produces the verification evidence a defence or industrial buyer will require.
- Speed and rigour, in equal measure.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on the operation and programming of additive manufacturing equipment to produce prototypes and production-representative parts
- Run the rapid iteration loop, taking designs from digital file to physical test article and feeding findings back into the design cycle
- Own the test and verification programme for each platform, developing test plans, executing tests, and producing test reports
- Develop and maintain environmental and qualification test protocols suited to maritime and defence operating requirements
- Identify design flaws through physical testing before they reach production, reducing cost and programme risk
- Work across the team to ensure prototyping priorities align with the product roadmap
Requirements
- Hands-on experience operating industrial additive manufacturing equipment, including FFF, SLS, or similar processes
- Practical hardware prototyping and fabrication background with a portfolio of physical products built and tested
- Experience developing and executing structured test programmes for mechanical, electronic, or integrated systems
- Systematic approach to documenting test results and translating findings into design recommendations
- Nigerian nationals strongly preferred
Preferred Background:
- Experience with maritime, defence, or safety-critical environmental qualification testing
- Familiarity with MIL-STD, IP ratings, or equivalent environmental standards
- Background in post-processing and finishing of additive manufactured parts for functional and aesthetic requirements.
