Role: Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Location: Abuja/Lagos

Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to oversee and optimize the operational activities of our Oil & Gas service firm. The ideal candidate will provide leadership across operations, logistics, project execution, HSE compliance, business growth, and overall organizational performance. The COO will work closely with executive management to drive operational excellence, profitability, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of oil and gas support services, projects, and contracts.
  • Drive operational efficiency, cost optimization, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee logistics, procurement, fleet management, and supply chain operations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE, industry regulations, and company policies
  • Establish and enforce operational policies, SOPs, and quality management systems that support ISO certifications
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and external partners on tender submissions, capital raising, joint ventures, and expansion into new service lines or regions.
  • Mentor and coach staff to strengthen technical competence and align with the company’s vision, values, and client service standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas operations, with at least 5 years in senior management.
  • Strong understanding of Oil & Gas service operations, logistics, and project management.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ERP, CMMS, and project management software, along with strong IT and data analysis capabilities for operational decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE standards and regulatory compliance within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Must be flexible, and able to travel frequently when necessary.
