Afriex is hiring a sales executive to build and grow relationships with Nigerian banks across the digital payments ecosystem. We’re looking for someone with a strong track record selling payment products or infrastructure into banks, owning strategic relationships, and turning complex banking partnerships into revenue.
This is a high-impact role for someone who understands how Nigerian banks buy, evaluate, and launch payment products, and who already has credibility with decision-makers across digital banking, transaction banking, cards, channels, partnerships, or innovation teams.
What you’ll do
You will lead Afriex’s efforts to originate, structure, and grow partnerships with banks in Nigeria. That includes identifying the right opportunities, opening doors with senior stakeholders, running commercial conversations, and partnering internally to get deals live.
You will:
-Own bank partnership and sales strategy for Nigeria
-Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across Nigerian banks
-Identify opportunities across cross-border payments, collections, payouts, treasury flows, embedded finance, APIs, cards, wallet infrastructure, and related payment products
-Lead commercial conversations from prospecting through negotiation, contracting, and launch
-Develop partnership pipelines and convert strategic opportunities into revenue
-Work closely with product, compliance, operations, and leadership teams to bring bank partnerships to market
-Represent Afriex credibly with senior decision-makers including heads of digital banking, transaction banking, e-business, partnerships, cards, and executive leadership
-Provide market intelligence on Nigerian banking trends, competitive dynamics, regulation, and partnership opportunities
-Help shape the go-to-market strategy for selling into banks and financial institutions
What we’re looking for
We want someone who has already sold into banks in Nigeria and understands the commercial and operational realities of that environment.
You likely bring:
-4+ years of experience in payments, fintech, banking partnerships, enterprise sales, transaction banking, or digital banking
-Strong experience selling payment or financial infrastructure solutions into Nigerian banks
-An existing network across banks, financial institutions, and key ecosystem players in Nigeria
-A strong understanding of digital payments, bank channels, collections, payouts, acquiring, cards, settlement flows, APIs, or cross-border payments
-A demonstrated ability to source, manage, and close complex B2B or enterprise partnerships
Strong executive presence and the ability to engage senior stakeholders confidently
-Commercial discipline, strong pipeline management, and comfort operating in a fast-moving environment
-Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ideal background
This role may be a strong fit for candidates coming from:
-Fintechs or payment companies selling to banks
-Card networks, payment processors, switching companies, or banking infrastructure providers
-Nigerian banks in roles across e-channels, digital banking, transaction banking, or strategic partnerships
-Enterprise sales or business development roles covering financial institutions
