Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager – Metering to drive business growth and expand our market presence across Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in selling electricity metering solutions, smart meters, prepaid meters, AMI/AMR solutions, and related power utility products. The role requires strong business development skills, customer relationship management, channel partner development, and the ability to work closely with utilities, EPC contractors, government agencies, and key commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within Nigeria's power and utility sector.
- Drive sales of smart meters, prepaid meters, AMI/AMR solutions, meter data management systems, and related products.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share objectives.
- Prepare annual and quarterly sales plans aligned with business targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with power distribution companies (DISCOs), utilities, EPC contractors, government agencies, and private sector clients.
- Manage key accounts and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals and participate in tenders and bid submissions.
- Ensure timely closure of sales opportunities and achievement of sales targets.
- Develop distributor, dealer, and system integrator networks across Nigeria.
- Support channel partners through product training and joint customer visits.
- Monitor channel performance and implement growth initiatives.
- Conduct market research to identify customer requirements, competitor activities, pricing trends, and emerging opportunities.
- Provide regular market intelligence reports to management.
- Recommend pricing strategies and product positioning.
- Deliver product presentations and technical demonstrations.
- Coordinate with engineering and technical teams to provide customized customer solutions.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through effective pre-sales and post-sales support.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
- Manage CRM updates and ensure accurate opportunity tracking.
- Achieve assigned revenue, margin, and collection targets.
- Achieve annual sales and revenue targets.
- Increase market share across Nigeria.
- Expand distributor and customer network.
- Generate new business opportunities.
- Improve customer retention and satisfaction.
- Ensure timely collections and healthy order pipeline.
- Maintain forecast accuracy and CRM compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA is an added advantage.
- 8–10 years of experience in sales/business development within the electrical metering, smart metering, energy management, or power distribution industry.
- Experience working with electricity utilities, DISCOs, EPC contractors, or metering solution providers.
