The Key purpose is to ensure that effective maintenance plans are in place for the maintenance of applicable equipment, spares are available for the planned work, resources are available to execute. On the planned maintenance outage, monitor that the plan is effective. Make recommendations to the maintenance controller, unit manager and packaging engineer if unforeseen work arises.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment:
- Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
- Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation / systems
- Develop the plan
- Tags and work arings from inspection tasks are planned to carry out repairs
- Continuously improve (optimise) plans and looks for opportunities to reduce the overall planned maintenance outage, whilst ensuring that all required work is carried and plant is not placed at risk
- Implement and maintain maintenance planning system on SAP
- Manage and maintain maintenance data
- Analyse maintenance data and reports
- Plan scheduled maintenance
- Create, update and issue reports
- Coach and train customers
- Plan and monitor maintenance projects
- Initiate and update work instructions
- Audit maintenance documentation and output
- Support, guide and coach maintenance team members
- Manage own development & performance
- Support the maintenance team and natural Leave Relieve for Controller
- Communicate effectively in teams and all levels in the plant
- Contribute to self and team development
- All work is carried out using the VPO principles

- Trade tested Millwright (N6) Mechanical or Electrical artisan or Technician (N6)
- 3 - 5 years production engineering in a FMCG environment
- 5 Years technical mechanical/electrical and bottling experience in a leadership capacity in a FMCG environment
- Knowledge of Brewing and Packaging plant will be an advantage
- PC literate (Proficiency in Microsoft office applications)
- Band: VIII
