The Role

We are looking for an Associate to work directly with the Founding Partner to support execution across Ark Capital’s portfolio companies.

This is a Chief of Staff-style role with a finance and execution lean. The role will involve documentation, emails, presentations, research, analysis, organization, follow-ups, and portfolio support.

The ideal candidate is sharp, organized, analytical, highly responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. They should be strong with Google Workspace, ChatGPT, AI tools, and business presentations.

This role is best suited for someone interested in the intersection of finance and technology in emerging markets.

What You’ll Own

• Support the Managing Partner across portfolio company execution and strategic initiatives.
• Draft and organize emails, proposals, reports, memos, presentations, and internal documents.
• Prepare business and analytical presentations for investors, partners, clients, and portfolio companies.
• Manage follow-ups, action items, meeting notes, trackers, calendars, and document folders.
• Conduct business, financial, industry, and competitive research.
• Support portfolio reporting, performance tracking, planning, and execution.
• Coordinate communications between Ark Capital, portfolio companies, investors, lenders, lawyers, and partners.
• Use Google Workspace, ChatGPT, and other AI/productivity tools to improve speed and quality of work.
• Identify execution gaps, risks, and bottlenecks before they become problems.
• Step into urgent tasks quickly and deliver with minimal supervision.

What We’re Looking For

Must Have:

• 1–4 years of relevant experience in finance, venture capital, consulting, investment banking, strategy, startup operations, or a similar role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent business writing skills across emails, memos, proposals, and presentations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Advanced proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.
• Strong ability to create clean, professional, and persuasive presentations.
• High comfort using ChatGPT and other AI tools for research, writing, analysis, and execution, with the judgment to use AI as an assistant rather than a substitute for thinking. Must be able to produce highly refined, accurate, and humanized work products using AI without sounding generic or careless.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• High ownership mindset and ability to work without constant supervision.
• Strong interest in finance, AI, digital infrastructure, and emerging markets.
• Exceptional work ethic, strong availability, and ability to perform under pressure.

Strong Plus

• Experience working directly with founders, CEOs, investors, or senior executives.
• Experience in fintech, credit, venture capital, investment analysis, or portfolio operations.
• Financial modelling, data analysis, or business analysis experience.
• Experience preparing investor decks, board decks, business plans, or transaction documents.
• Familiarity with Notion, Slack, Airtable, Trello, Asana, Monday.com, or similar tools.
