SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for Senior Drilling Engineer to join its work force in Nigeria.
The senior drilling engineer prepares and follows-up drilling operations within the drilling engineering team. He supports the operational team to deliver wells safely, as per planning and at competitive cost. He plays a leading role with the team
ACTIVITIES
- Prepare well designs and operational programs in line with statement of requirements (SOR), Company referential, industry standards and best practices to achieve wells objectives.
- Leading operational program review (DWOP, pre-spud, PPR...) within the D&W team, rig and service companies, HQ when necessary.
- Propose and implement innovative engineering solution to overcome technical challenges and alternative plan. Draw up operating procedures. Prepare management of changes (MOC).
- In charge of derogations perception against company's referential and follow-up in line with HQ.
- Define the scope and lead engineering studies performed by HQ (Geo-Mechanical, SHAZ, PBOR etc.). Ensure provision of necessary data, QAQC and challenge technical results.
- Liaise with contractor for technical studies (riser analysis, running simulations etc.). Prepare scope of work, provide inputs data and review results.
- Challenge complexity and ensure standardization within affiliate and with other affiliates
- Prepare end of activities report. Control the accuracy of Wellview and Wellmap database. Prepare REX and postmortem analysis when necessary. Organize operation debriefing to disseminate experience across the team. Contribute to the field state of the art drilling.
- In charge of implementing innovative practices to improve safety and performance. Conduct benchmark studies.
- Organization
- Follow up of operations and cost to ensure that the wells are delivered in line with objectives, on time and within budget.
- Control drilling expenditures against budgeted cost and optimize contract utilization to meet wells budget.
- Ensure accuracy of daily reports. Check adequacy of operation codification. Control the technical cost follow-up.
- Support the superintendent for the mobilization and demobilization of equipment and personnel to ensure operational readiness while optimizing the cost.
- Elaborate risk assessment related to SIMOPS. Prepare dossier with field operation and construction teams.
- Participate in risk assessment related to drilling operations. Identify and implement mitigation measures to ensure successful well delivery. Prepare contingency plan with procedure, equipment, and personnel.
- Manage operation debriefing with the rig and contractors to capture lessons learnt, areas of improvement and disseminate experience across the team. Update issue tracker with good practice and sources of non-productive time. Follow-up open actions.
- Participate in HSE audits, site committee meeting and incident investigations.
- Responsible for coaching drilling engineers, interns and DCAS.
Co-ordination
Plan for equipment and services. Ensure that available services and equipment are fit for purpose. Coordinate with contractors and material team for the supply and he preparation of equipment, both at the planning and execution stages. Lead reviews with contractors to ensure operational readiness.
Prepare and conduct invitation to tender for service and equipment contracts in conjunction with Procurement and Contracts entity. Conduct technical and commercial evaluations in coordination with partners and authorities.
Manage assigned drilling service contracts: Organize Bi-annual service quality meetings for contracts assigned (Duet) with a view to improving operational performance, assessing contractor performance and improving overall service delivery. Track invoices and ensure compliance with ongoing contract.
Implement digital solutions to measure, simplify, standardize and enhance engineering workflow.
Lead D&W's digital transformation within affiliate by collaborating with HQ digital teams
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Master's degree of engineer or equivalent
Minimum 8 years' drilling experience required
Compliant with HSE and discipline training standard requirements
Fluent in English
