We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee power plant operations and lead shift teams to ensure safe,reliable, and efficient plant performance at our power plant in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

The role is responsible for achieving operational targets, maximizing plant availability, ensuring compliance with HSE standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily plant operations and shift teams.
  • Ensure plant performance targets are achieved in line with contractual requirements.
  • Monitor plant equipment condition and initiate corrective actions when required.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards, work procedures, and site guidelines.
  • Coordinate plant start-ups, shutdowns, and operational activities.
  • Prepare operational reports and support planning activities.
  • Lead team training and competency development.
  • Improve plant reliability, availability, and operational efficiency.
  • Approve maintenance schedules based on operational requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure proper use of PPE.
  • Apply troubleshooting skills to resolve operational issues.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng. or B.Tech.).
  • 5–8 years of experience in Gas or HFO Engine Power Plants.
  • Willingness to work in shifts.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of power plant operations and gas/HFO engine systems.
  • Good understanding of plant control systems and operational monitoring.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of HSE standards and permit-to-work systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CMMS systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound operational decisions.
