Position Summary

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Officer (Core Banking & Digital Platforms) to manage and support the Bank's technology infrastructure, Core Banking Application (CBA), digital banking channels, and end-user computing environment.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of banking technology operations with hands-on experience supporting BankOne Core Banking Application (CBA). Candidates with experience administering other leading Core Banking Applications (such as Flexcube, Finacle, Temenos T24, Phoenix, or similar banking platforms) will also be considered; however, experience with BankOne is highly preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability of banking systems, maintaining IT security, supporting digital banking services, managing infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing efficient technical support to business users.

Key Responsibilities

Core Banking Application (CBA) Administration

  • Provide first- and second-level support for the BankOne Core Banking Application (CBA).
  • Administer and maintain the Core Banking System to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Monitor system uptime, application performance, and transaction processing.
  • Manage user profiles, access rights, permissions, and security controls.
  • Configure banking products, parameters, interest rates, charges, GL mappings, and operational settings.
  • Support end-of-day (EOD), beginning-of-day (BOD), and month-end processing activities.
  • Liaise with BankOne and other application vendors on upgrades, patches, issue resolution, and system enhancements.
  • Conduct routine system health checks and preventive maintenance.


Digital Banking & Electronic Channels Support

  • Support and maintain digital banking platforms, including:
    • Internet Banking
    • Mobile Banking
    • USSD Banking
    • POS Services
    • ATM Interfaces
    • Agency Banking
    • Payment Gateways
    • NIBSS-related platforms
  • Monitor digital transactions and ensure uninterrupted service availability.
  • Troubleshoot customer-facing digital banking issues promptly.
  • Support API integrations with fintech and third-party service providers.
  • Work closely with vendors to resolve service disruptions and system incidents.
  • Monitor electronic banking settlement processes and transaction integrity.

IT Infrastructure Management

  • Administer servers, desktops, laptops, virtualization environments, storage solutions, and network infrastructure.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless networks, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Monitor system performance and network availability.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, Microsoft 365, and email services.
  • Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery testing.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain hardware and software solutions.
  • Ensure optimal performance of all enterprise IT systems.


IT Service Desk & User Support

  • Provide timely first- and second-line technical support to staff.
  • Resolve hardware, software, printer, email, network, and application-related issues.
  • Manage user onboarding, account provisioning, and access management.
  • Maintain IT helpdesk tickets and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Conduct user awareness sessions and basic IT training where required.


Information Security & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal IT security policies and procedures.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls to safeguard Bank systems.
  • Maintain data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Monitor antivirus, endpoint protection, firewall, and security solutions.
  • Support vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation activities.
  • Assist during internal, external, CBN, NDIC, and regulatory IT audits.
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Guidelines
    • Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023
    • PCI-DSS (where applicable)
    • ISO 27001 information security best practices (advantage)


Vendor & Technology Management

  • Coordinate with software vendors, managed service providers, ISPs, and technology partners.
  • Monitor vendor performance against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Manage software licensing, warranties, maintenance agreements, and support contracts.
  • Participate in evaluating and implementing new banking technologies.


Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly IT operational reports.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset registers and inventory.
  • Document network diagrams, system configurations, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Record system incidents, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
  • Recommend continuous improvements to IT operations and service delivery.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in banking IT operations, core banking support, or financial technology.
  • Hands-on experience with BankOne Core Banking Application (CBA) is highly preferred.
  • Candidates with experience supporting other Core Banking Applications (such as Flexcube, Finacle, Temenos T24, Phoenix, or similar platforms) may also be considered.
  • Proven experience supporting digital banking platforms and electronic payment systems.
  • Good understanding of banking operations, financial systems, and technology infrastructure.
