Operations Manager

Platos

The role

This role has two pillars: supply chain and finance operations. You are the operational and financial backbone of Platos in Nigeria. You keep product moving, build and run the systems that collect our money and close our books cleanly every month, and hold external partners to account so the group can report accurately and on time. This is the role that keeps operations running with no single point of failure.

What you'll own

Supply chain

  • Inventory accuracy across the warehouse and partner stores; reconcile against Platos data and resolve discrepancies

  • The reorder cycle: monitor stock, trigger restocks before thresholds are breached, and manage device supply from our OEM

  • Import readiness: keep clearing documents current ahead of every shipment (Proforma Invoice, SONCAP, Product Certificate, Bill of Lading)

  • Order fulfilment: invoicing, packing, dispatch, and delivery within 48 hours of confirmation. Volume is low today; keep it reliable as it grows

  • Device fleet: track units in the field, and handle returns and warranty cases

Finance operations

  • Build and run the system that collects payment from customers, B2B and B2C, across our payment and finance tools (for example Xero and Paystack)

  • Enforce cash-on-delivery discipline: no device leaves the warehouse without payment confirmation

  • Own reconciliation across payments, bank, and the ledger so the numbers always tie out

  • Own receivables, including recovery against outstanding balances; chase and escalate with a clear recovery plan

  • Close the Nigerian books accurately every month with our external accountant, holding them to deadline and quality, and preparing or balancing entries directly where you can

  • Deliver clean, timely numbers so global headquarters can produce the consolidated group report on schedule

Operational workflow, vendors & continuity

  • Run the operational workflow behind partner activity: device dispatch, onboarding packs, scan-fee tracking, and the monthly reporting cadence

  • Manage vendors, including logistics providers, clearing agents, and the external accountant, holding them to cost, quality, and deadline

  • Keep operational data clean in our tools so the team and global headquarters always work from accurate numbers

Requirements

What you bring
  • A proven track record of running operational or financial systems well, whatever path you took to get there. A relevant degree is a plus, not a prerequisite.

  • Technically savvy: quick to master tools like accounting and payment platforms and spreadsheets, and inclined to build and improve systems rather than just operate them

  • Finance-literate and numerate: you understand bookkeeping, reconciliation, and what closing the books means, and you can hold an external accountant to account

  • A systems thinker who turns messy manual work into reliable, repeatable processes

  • High ownership and reliability: you can be the single point of operational continuity and run independently once ramped

  • A sharp communicator who holds vendors accountable

  • Based in Nigeria; fluent in English
