About The Role

We are seeking a creative, experienced, and passionate Documentary Videographer & Photographer to join our Media & Communications team. The successful candidate will produce compelling visual content that documents programmes, captures impact, tells authentic stories, and communicates the organisation's work to diverse audiences.

The ideal candidate will be an empathetic visual storyteller with strong technical production skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine passion for social impact. The role requires regular field travel and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, shoot, and produce high-quality documentaries, interviews, testimonials, and impact stories.
  • Capture professional photographs covering programmes, beneficiaries, events, and organisational activities.
  • Manage the full production cycle, including pre-production, filming, editing, post-production, and final delivery.
  • Conduct interviews with beneficiaries, staff, partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
  • Travel to project locations, schools, communities, and events to document programmes and activities.
  • Produce video content for social media, websites, fundraising campaigns, donor reports, and organisational publications.
  • Edit documentaries, promotional videos, event highlights, reels, and other digital content.
  • Operate, maintain, and safeguard professional cameras, lighting, audio, and production equipment.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Programme teams to identify and develop compelling visual stories.
  • Ensure all visual content aligns with brand guidelines, ethical storytelling standards, and organisational objectives.
  • Organise, catalogue, back up, and maintain a secure archive of photographs, videos, and raw production files.
  • Support live event coverage and multimedia production activities.
  • Monitor production timelines and ensure projects are delivered to a high professional standard within agreed deadlines.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in photography, videography, documentary filmmaking, and digital storytelling.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years' professional experience in videography, photography, documentary filmmaking, multimedia production, or a related field.
  • OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Cinematography, Photography, Multimedia, Digital Media, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Professional certification in Photography, Cinematography, Film Production, Multimedia Production, or Digital Media is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in professional videography, photography, documentary production, and visual storytelling.
  • Demonstrable experience in video editing and post-production.
  • A strong and relevant portfolio of work is required.


Technical Skills

  • Professional operation of DSLR, mirrorless, or cinema cameras.
  • Strong knowledge of lighting and professional audio recording.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Audition is an advantage.
  • Experience with colour correction and colour grading.
  • Knowledge of professional microphones, audio recorders, gimbals, stabilisers, and lighting equipment.
  • Drone photography/videography experience and relevant certification are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of social media video optimisation and digital asset management is desirable.
