Legal Officer

Support the legal and compliance function at Sohcahtoa Holdings, providing legal advice, contract management, and regulatory guidance across business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the group-wide HR strategy in alignment with overall business objectives and long-term growth plans.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on HR matters, organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy.
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes for senior, leadership, and critical roles across the group.
  • Design and implement group-wide talent management frameworks, including succession planning, career pathing, and leadership development.
  • Design, implement, and manage performance management systems that drive accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and oversee competitive and compliant compensation and benefits structures aligned with market benchmarks.
  • Identify group-wide learning and development needs and implement training programs that build capability and support career growth.
  • Champion a positive, inclusive, ethical, and values-driven workplace culture across all group entities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from an accredited institution. Call to the Nigerian Bar is mandatory.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is required. Additional certifications in corporate law, compliance, or related areas are an added advantage.
  • Legal Drafting & Review: Strong competence in drafting and reviewing legal documents with high attention to detail.
  • Legal Research & Analysis: Proficiency in legal research and analytical reasoning using multiple legal resources.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for clear, concise, and effective legal advice.
