HSE Officer

Job Summary - To ensure that the Company operates in a safe working environment that is free from hazards while complying with all relevant laws on Health, Safety and environment.

  • Ensure that the company complies with all laws and regulations relating to the fire prevention and protection of the Environment.
  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
  • Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to DSR facility management.
  • Creating fire prevention, protection, safety awareness and training staff to handle emergencies.
  • Promote 100% compliance with company HSE policies and procedures by all DSR personnel.
  • Promote awareness, education and use of company management system.
  • Document and report all cases of Accidents and Near misses.
  • Participate in detailed incident investigations and roots cause Analysis.
  • Participate in DSR audits and assessments, as well as HSE local contractors’ management compliance.
  • Ensuring the effective management of occupational Health hazards.
  • Organizing training on the OH&S and Environmental issues.
  • Update DSR HSE Dashboard and compiled DSR OHS weekly reports as required.
  • Monitor compliance of HSE orientation and induction for personnel and carryout inspections.
  • Liaise with Statutory agencies responsible for fire prevention and protection as well as our customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures that safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are maintained and communicated to employees.
  • Ensure implementation of ISO standards of OMS, FSMS, FSSC, OHSAS, EMS and any other management system in the organization.
  • Perform other work related tasks as required as assigned.

Work Experience In Health, Safety & Environment

  • Working knowledge of Safety procedures
  • 5 years’ experience in similar role

Competencies

  • Proper knowledge of Safety, Health, Environment & Fire prevention and protection laws and practices.
  • The International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH.
  • Good knowledge of relevant agencies responsible for fire prevention and protection.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal relationship.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in this position.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
  • Any relevant valid competency certificate.
