- Develop and implement tomato production plans and schedules.
- Monitor crop growth and recommend appropriate agronomic interventions.
- Ensure proper land preparation, nursery management, transplanting, and harvesting activities.
- Conduct soil sampling and analyze soil fertility requirements.
- Develop fertilizer application programs based on soil and crop needs.
- Plan and supervise irrigation schedules to ensure optimal crop performance.
- Monitor soil moisture levels and water use efficiency.
- Train, supervise, and guide farm workers on agronomic best practices.
- Monitor field activities and ensure tasks are completed according to schedule.
- Ensure compliance with farm operating procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of planting, fertilization, irrigation, pest control, and harvest activities.
- Analyze production data and prepare regular agronomic reports.
- Implement innovations that improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, Soil Science, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in large commercial vegetable farming.
- Experience with greenhouse and open-field tomato production is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
- Proficiency in data collection/data analysis,
- Ability to work independently
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities.
- Good communication and team leadership skills.
