Position Summary

The Key Account Manager – Strategic Infrastructure & Managed Services is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing high-value business opportunities across the telecommunications, ICT, and enterprise sectors.

The successful candidate will lead strategic sales initiatives, manage executive-level client relationships, negotiate complex commercial agreements, and deliver sustainable revenue growth by promoting managed services, enterprise connectivity, fibre infrastructure, cloud networking solutions, and digital transformation services.

This role requires an accomplished business development professional with an extensive industry network, strong commercial acumen, and a proven track record of winning and managing multimillion-naira contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify, pursue, and secure strategic business opportunities across target markets.
  • Develop and implement account strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Generate new business for Managed Services, Enterprise Connectivity, Fibre Infrastructure, Network Services, Cloud Solutions, and Digital Infrastructure offerings.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline aligned with annual revenue targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling within existing customer accounts.


Strategic Account Management

Develop and maintain executive relationships with key customers, including:

  • Mobile Network Operators (MTN, Airtel, Globacom, and 9mobile)
  • Tower Companies
  • Internet Service Providers
  • Financial Institutions
  • Government Agencies
  • Oil & Gas Companies
  • Manufacturing Organizations
  • Educational Institutions
  • Healthcare Organizations
  • Large Corporate Enterprises


Serve as the primary commercial contact, ensuring exceptional customer engagement, account growth, and long-term partnerships.

Managed Services Business Development

Drive commercial opportunities across:

  • Telecom Site Operations & Maintenance
  • Network Operations Centre (NOC) Services
  • Fibre Deployment & Maintenance
  • Network Rollout Projects
  • Enterprise Managed Network Services
  • Power Infrastructure Maintenance
  • Field Engineering Services
  • Digital Infrastructure Outsourcing
  • Data Centre Connectivity Solutions
  • Cloud and Hybrid Network Services


Strategic Partnerships

Develop and strengthen relationships with:

  • Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Technology Vendors

Identify partnership opportunities that enhance the organization's service portfolio and market reach.

Sales Leadership

  • Lead complex sales engagements from opportunity identification through contract execution.
  • Coordinate bid management and proposal development activities.
  • Prepare and deliver executive presentations and commercial proposals.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
  • Collaborate with technical, legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Facilitate seamless transition from sales to implementation and service delivery.


Executive Relationship Management

Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers, including:

  • Chief Executive Officers (CEOs)
  • Chief Technology Officers (CTOs)
  • Chief Commercial Officers (CCOs)
  • Chief Information Officers (CIOs)
  • Procurement Directors
  • Infrastructure Directors
  • Government Officials and Regulatory Stakeholders


Represent the organization at executive meetings, industry conferences, exhibitions, and networking events to strengthen market presence.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor industry developments, market trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Track competitor activities and market positioning.
  • Identify new business opportunities and customer requirements.
  • Provide commercial insights and strategic recommendations to executive management.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Telecommunications, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications in Sales, Business Development, Telecommunications, or Project Management are desirable.


Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in Enterprise Sales, Telecommunications, ICT, Business Development, or Strategic Account Management.
  • Demonstrated success in originating and closing high-value ICT, telecom, managed services, or digital infrastructure contracts.
  • Established relationships within Mobile Network Operators, Tower Companies, OEMs, Government Agencies, and large enterprise organizations.
  • Proven experience managing complex B2B sales cycles involving executive stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of the Nigerian telecommunications and digital infrastructure landscape.

Compensation & Benefits
