As a Legal Officer, you'll help strengthen the legal, governance and compliance foundations that support our businesses across Africa. Working closely with legal, commercial and leadership teams, you'll play an important role in managing legal and regulatory risk while enabling the business to move forward with confidence. From supporting commercial agreements to maintaining strong governance practices and compliance processes, your work will help protect our brands, people and reputation. This is a fantastic opportunity to build broad regional experience while contributing to a business that makes a meaningful impact in the markets we serve.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Help the business make informed decisions by drafting, reviewing and supporting the delivery of commercial contracts that balance opportunity and risk.
- Strengthen governance standards by supporting board, committee and statutory processes, ensuring key obligations are met accurately and on time.
- Drive consistency across African markets through effective compliance monitoring, policy implementation and record management.
- Maintain trusted legal and compliance information, ensuring critical documents, registers and contract records are accurate, accessible and up to date.
- Provide valuable legal research and insight that supports decision-making, policy development and business projects.
- Build strong relationships across commercial, supply chain, finance, HR and leadership teams to deliver practical legal and compliance support.
- An LL.B degree and qualification as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court.
- Around 2-4 years of legal experience, ideally within a corporate, commercial or in-house environment.
- Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and legal documentation.
- Exposure to company secretarial, corporate governance, compliance or statutory filing activities.
- Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and practically.
- Confidence managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and document management tools.
