Job description:

Part A: Job Specification Please note thsi si 28/28 rotational position to Doha,Qatar. Job Purpose
  • Support Expansion Project Control & Safety Systems activities including pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation and start-up tasks and conduct Integrated Control Systems (ICS) & Process Safety Systems (PSS) Triconex support in order to sustain efficient, effective and safe operation and functionality at the Company Offshore facilities.
Reporting and Relationships
  • Reports to Head of Maintenance (NFPS)

Internal

  • Frequent contact with NFPS PMT (Major Projects) Engineering & Projects (E&P), Maintenance and Operations departments.

External

  • Frequent contact with EPC Contractor and 3rd party services providers.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
  • Supports QG facilities Control & Safety Systems expansion activities. This will involve working with project EPCI contractors and PMT offshore and construction activities at contractor yard facility.

  • Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company Safety, Health and Environment and Quality policies, regulations and standards.

  • Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is a condition of employment for expatriate employees.
Firewall Compliance
  • Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti – trust and competition laws and the Company firewall policies and procedures.
Key Job Accountabilities
  • Participates in pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation and start-up of new equipment and facilities.
  • Provide support to all new projects, as directed by his line supervisor including reviews HAZOP, HAZID and Risk Screening in alignment with technical support abilities.
  • Maintain the offshore control systems and safety system at optimum performance through periodic system monitoring and analysis to ensure the reliability of the equipment.
  • Provide support to Offshore Instrument team in maintaining Offshore Control Systems to minimize downtime and corrects any problems identified within the Control Systems through on-line or shutdown maintenance.
  • Develop, implement and document modifications to Control Systems and Control schemes through approved company policies and procedures.
  • Develop improvements in Plant Information systems through enhanced reports. Archive and monitor the alarm management system on a daily basis.
  • Maintain proper backups of all system software and control software as per the company’s backup policy requirements.
  • Support, upgrade and maintain "Hot spares” to test and prove hardware modules and software schemes to facilitate reliable control system maintenance.
  • Assist with commissioning of control systems prior to plant start-up and record all software and control scheme changes through documentation and schematics, which will be utilized to update the various control scenarios and to test control scheme enhancements in conjunction with process engineers and Engineering team.
  • Provide facility for technical training and coaching of technicians and Qatari National Developees in the offline “Hot Spares” system.
Part B: Person Specification - Minimum Requirement Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science majoring in Engineering in the area of specialization.
Knowledge and/or Experience
  • 4 years direct maintenance and system monitoring experience of control and safety systems within the oil and gas industry.
