Position Summary
The Human Resources Administrator supports various functions of the HR department,
including recruitment, orientation and onboarding of new hires, administration of corporate
Education Programs, Reporting, Benefits And Pension Administration, And Other
administrative services related to human resource and workforce management.
Position Relationships
Reports directly to the Director of Human Resources, provides support to HR Generalists and
May Be Required To Assist Others As Directed.
Works closely with leadership and management across the organization to support workforce
management functions and provides human resources support directly to employees and the
HR function.
Position Responsibilities
Recruitment, Onboarding, Orientation and Offboarding
- Assist and support HR Generalists in the administrative tasks of employee lifecycle.
- Scheduling interviews and conducting reference checks where required.
- Coordinate onboarding of successful candidates – documentation, orientation schedule, etc.
- Schedule and support attendance at Corporate Orientation.
- Ensure departed employees files are appropriately managed (accounts terminated, payroll, etc.).
- Assist with accurate maintenance of employee files in accordance with policies and legislation regarding confidentiality and retention.
- Assist with employee status changes, including but not limited to salary, position and vacation entitlement.
- Assist payroll with benefits and pension administration, including entries into the Human Resources Information System, pension and group insurance providers.
- Provide clerical and technical support for HR activities.
- Respond to general inquiries from employees.
- Assist in education and training assignments and communications.
- Assign and track education in online learning platform.
- Liaise with managers on review of courses, reporting of overdue education.
- Communicate with employees on mandatory education requirements.
- Assist with coordination of on-site and virtual education.
- Track course and certifications of employees in applicable databases.
- Support HR Generalists as related to Human Resources requirements.
- Support Joint Health and Safety Committee and all health and safety initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned and considered necessary to support the HR function.
Education
- Post-secondary education in Administration or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- 1-2 years general Administration experience.
- Experience in a unionized environment, preferably in a health care setting an asset.
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
- Effective prioritization and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate a passion for engaging employees and promoting a supportive and productive work culture.
- Deal with sensitive and confidential information in a professional and tactful manner.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Demonstrated excellence with Microsoft Office products.
