About Astria Learning

Astria Learning is an edtech company that partners with universities and institutions to deliver digital learning solutions, including online program development, learning management platforms, digital libraries, and student enrollment services. We enable institutions to expand access to quality education at scale.

Role Summary

The Country Manager / Director – Nigeria owns Astria Learning's business in Nigeria: revenue growth, university and institutional partnerships, government and regulatory relations, and the local team. This is a senior leadership role for a commercially driven operator who can open doors at the highest levels of Nigeria's higher-education sector and convert them into signed, long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and deliver the Nigeria revenue target; build and manage the full partnership pipeline from prospecting to signed contract.
  • Initiate, negotiate, and close partnerships with universities and higher-education institutions for online programs, LMS, digital library, and enrollment services.
  • Manage relations with the NUC (National Universities Commission), Federal Ministry of Education, and other regulators to ensure program accreditation and compliance.
  • Represent Astria Learning with vice-chancellors, registrars, ministry officials, and sector bodies; act as the face of the company in-country.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop the local team (business development, enrollment, support); set targets and manage performance.
  • Oversee delivery of active partnerships: launch timelines, enrollment growth, partner satisfaction, and renewals.
  • Report weekly to HQ on pipeline, revenue, risks, and market intelligence; keep CRM data accurate and current.
  • Monitor the competitive and regulatory landscape in Nigeria and recommend market strategy adjustments.
  • Manage the office and employee in Nigeria

Requirements
  • 8+ years in business development, sales leadership, or general management, including 3+ years leading a team; Nigeria-based with deep local networks.
  • Proven track record of closing large B2B or institutional deals in Nigeria – higher education, edtech, telecom, banking, or similar sectors.
  • Existing relationships within Nigeria's higher-education ecosystem (universities, NUC, Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities) are a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable operating independently with full P&L-style accountability and remote HQ oversight.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and written communication skills in English.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's/MBA preferred. Willingness to travel across Nigeria regularly.

Success Metrics (First 12 Months)
  • Signed university partnerships and revenue vs. target.
  • Qualified pipeline built (number and value of active institutional opportunities).
  • Local team hired and fully operational.
  • Enrollment growth in launched partner programs.
