A client of our in the UK is seeking a highly experienced JavaScript Engineer with deep expertise in React.js to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for architecting, building, and optimizing high‑performance web applications used by thousands of users.

This role requires strong technical leadership, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.

Rate: £2,000/month all inclusive

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain complex React.js applications with clean, scalable, and testable code.
• Lead front‑end technical decisions and guide the team in implementing best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, responsiveness, and accessibility.
• Drive code reviews, write technical documentation, and ensure high engineering standards.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and contribute to team growth.
• Participate in system design discussions and influence the product strategy.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in JavaScript engineering.
• Expert knowledge of React.js, React Hooks, and modern front‑end tooling.
• Strong understanding of TypeScript, ES6+, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or Recoil.
• Proficiency with build tools and bundlers such as Webpack, Vite, or Rollup.
• Deep understanding of front‑end performance optimization and debugging.
• Experience building responsive and accessible UI (WCAG compliance).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with server‑side rendering (e.g., Next.js).
• Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Contributions to open‑source projects or active involvement in the JavaScript community.
