Program Associate
Olivehill Development Initiative
Remote
Job Description: Program Associate
Organisation: Olivehill Development Initiative
Location: Fully Remote (Candidate must be based in Lagos, Nigeria)
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Experience Level: Mid-level (3 years)
About the Role
The Program Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of programs across the organisation's three thematic areas, working closely with the COO on all things programs-related. As a start-up environment, the ideal candidate is comfortable building simple processes, staying organized across multiple workstreams, and working with a good degree of autonomy in a remote setting.
As the organisation is still in its early stages, this role will initially oversee all three thematic areas concurrently; as we grow, we anticipate hiring dedicated Program Managers for each thematic area, with this role potentially evolving into a more senior oversight or strategic position.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly lead and manage program delivery across all programs: planning, implementation, and day-to-day oversight, working closely with the COO.
- Maintain workplans, timelines, and trackers to keep all three thematic areas organized and on schedule.
- Track program data and outputs across the three areas, and provide updates/inputs to support leadership and donor reporting (owned by the Grants & Partnerships Officer).
- Manage program budgets across the three areas and flag any variances to the COO/finance team.
- Build and maintain relationships with implementing partners, vendors, and consultants supporting program delivery.
- Set up and maintain simple systems, templates, and tools to run all three thematic areas efficiently in a remote setting.
Skill Requirements
- Solid organisational and project coordination skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- Comfortable with project management/collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Trello, Asana, Slack, Notion).
- Budget tracking skills
- Self-directed and comfortable working independently in a remote, start-up environment.
- Genuine interest in the organisation's mission and thematic areas.
- Experience with donor/grant reporting.
- Familiarity with Nigeria's NGO/development space.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, Business Administration, or related).
- 3 years of relevant experience in program/project coordination or management, ideally in the NGO or social impact sector.
- Experience managing more than one project or task stream at a time.
- Remote work experience is a plus but not required.
